Heading to the racks to pick up the next couple of logs for course #8 . |
We wanted to carry two at once, since two of the four Jeff picked out for this course were in the same area on the racks... |
...so we dragged the first log out, set it down... |
...repositioned the chain to the balance point... |
...lifted it again and swung it out near the next log we wanted to pick up... |
...and set it down so we could chain it with the other log. |
Carrying more than one log saves time and fuel! |
Bringing the two logs to the south side of the house where one will get dropped off. |
Our racks are beginning to show holes in them as we use up logs. |
Sometimes we have to flip a log around to get it oriented the right way before lifting it up to the wall. A top end must sit on a butt end so the tapers alternate. |
Jillena and Stephen watch Daddy unhook the lifting chains from the log that just got set. |
The sun is beginning to sink to the northwest. We better get moving if we're going to finish pinning today. |
Our cute forman, Stephen. |

Paul cutting a bunch of rebar pins. |
Jeff out on an overdangle doing some trimming with the chainsaw. The cloud bank in the background almost looks like a mountain skyline. |
Paul got out there and did more trimming. |
