Starting on the south wall today, Jeff prepares to lift th first log for course #7.

Jeff drilling and Paul driving pins in the south log.

Heading to the east wall next, Jeff looks over the 6th course log at the log for the 7th course being raised.

Jillena cutting some rebar pins.

Bob keeps an eye on the log as it gets lowered into position.

The log is set and still secured by the chains. Next, we'll attach straps and/or the block & tackle to the ends so we can unhook the chains.

A view from the cab of the excavator as Jeff sets the north log.

Paul unhooking the chains so Jeff can back the excavator away from the house.

All logs for the 7th course are now up, but not fully pinned.

Paul guides the top end of the east log into position against the north log.

We've been driving only two pins a each end to secure the position of the logs, then driving the remainder of the pins.

On occasion, we'll have to pin half of a log, then pull a bow out of the other half before pinning the rest. This is one of the frustrations of working with crooked logs.

Paul drives the last lateral pin for course #7.

Just as they started on the south wall, Jeff drills the holes while Paul drives the pins. Course #7 complete!
