Bob cutting the miter joints in the Smart Trim.
The west slope is completely finished and we're about to start installing the gable roof trim on the east slope.

Looking down the east slope of the south gable wall at the butyl tape Jeff has laid down for the first piece of gable roof trim piece.
The first piece is on so more tape goes down for the next piece.

The second piece went on easily. Now on to the last piece that will need to be cut short at the peak, as well as match up with the top piece on the west side.
We've got a problem. The upper steel panel overhangs the roof edge a little too much, interfering with the gable trim, so Jeff cuts it back with the reciprocating saw.

Bob gives the "thumbs down" on the first trial fit. No good. More needs to come off...
...so Jeff takes off more of the steel panel toward the peak.

Jeff uses tin snips to finish it off.
A closeup of the custom cutting we did to fit the lower end of the gable trim to the eave trim (drip edge). This made for a nice, clean look.

The fit is good enough so Jeff screws down the top first.
A screw in the front, where the two top pieces overlap...

Good thing we've got that forklift.
Now a row of screws along the bottom of the front face.

When we switched to the front, Bob volunteered to go up in the crate to nail all of the backing material to the end of the rafter. Here, he's nailing the 12" wide board that spans the flanges.
Now he's nailing the 5"-wide backer boards for the relief profile.

Over to the opposite slope.
Bob's finished work. All of the backing material is nailed up.

Bob's getting way to familiar with this camera.
Two pieces of Smart Trim are up - one lower and one upper. By sunset, the rest of the right half had Smart Trim.
