The weather was not cooperative today, but Jeff and Steve ran a string line across from a known rafter position on the west wall...
...to the corresponding rafter position on the east wall. This reference line will tell us how much we need to shift the ridge pole north or south.
     
 
Next, Jeff dropped a plumb bob from the same corresponding rafter location on the ridge pole (the darker pink string).
The perspective from the floor is bad in this photo, but it's evident that the vertical plumb bob string (right) is about 3 inches south (right) of the horizontal cap log string line. We'll have to swing the ridge pole north about 3 inches.
